Hi Ammis and friends!
Every Monday, weโd like to start the week with safety by sharing an AI safety topic and some actionable tips from our AI Safety Moments library.
Please take five minutes this week to weave this AI safety topic into your dinner table conversation, your workplace meeting, or your community gathering.
Forward this Safety Moment to someone youโd like to see safe and healthy in the AI age ๐ฟ
๐ Stay tuned for our regular ammi.ai newsletter this week, featuring a useful tool, a demystified topic, and Ammi-sourced tidbits. Spoiler alert: itโs a special back-to-school edition!

2 quick announcements from our garden:
We need your help! Help us put moms + AI on the SXSW stage ๐ฟ

Weโre Sarah and Ruqaiya โ two Texan moms of 3, with 20+ years in Tech + AI, on a mission to help caregivers:
lighten their mental load
boost their economic mobility
protect their families from harmful tech
shape a healthy AI-powered future
Two of our sessions are up for SXSW + SXSW EDU community voting โ and every vote gets us closer.
It takes 3 minutes:
Please share this with 3 of your favorite Ammis and friends!
Thanks so much for your support ๐
Join us TONIGHT for a conversation about compassion in the AI age ๐ฟ

In our last newsletter, I shared an article, The Gaza Paradox, that contrasted AI innovation against ongoing humanitarian crises. It blew me away. The thesis was simple, but profound: "perhaps, instead of more compute, we need more compassion."
I'm thrilled and honored that the author of that piece, Dr. Cornelia C. Walther, will join me on LinkedIn Live to explore her work.
A UN humanitarian leader of 20+ years and Senior Wharton Fellow, sheโs been answering the questions that matter most to the ammi.ai community:
- How do we collaborate with AI without losing our humanity?
- How do we raise our kids for the AI age?
- How do we use this technology without harming people or the planet?
Here's just a sliver of her incredible body of work:
๐ฟLeaving an AI legacy for Generation Alpha
๐ฟProsocial AI: AI that helps people and the planet
๐ฟ'Hybrid intelligence', a model for healthy human-AI collaboration
Tonight, Iโm excited to dig deeper during LinkedIn Live.
Join us for a conversation on AI that benefits the people and planet, AI that amplifies instead of replaces, and why compassion might be the greatest competitive edge in the AI age.

Todayโs AI Safety Moment:
Hardcore AI fatigue? Same.
Hereโs how Iโm dealing with it as a mom and AI literacy advocate.
AI fatigue is when the constant flood of AI news, updates, and hype โ plus the endless deluge of AI-generated content โ leaves you feeling tired, drained, or just over it.
Even though our whole โthingโ here at ammi.ai is advocating for mothers and friends to learn about AI and join the AI conversation, I get that itโs exhausting to hear about it all the time. And itโs hard to keep up!
Here are 3 ways Iโm fighting AI fatigue as a mom who is both AI-excited and AI-exhausted:
1๏ธโฃ Go outside and touch grass.

Source: How To Touch Grass by SustainableBaddie
Iโm here for the touch grass movement. Itโs a call to action to promote our individual and collective well-being by disconnecting from the virtual world and reconnecting with the natural world. I try to offset the AI-ness of ammi.ai with our foliage-centric themes. But nothing beats real sunlight, leaves, grass, and trees.
Hereโs a lovely compilation of tips and pics by National Geographic to get out there and โtouch grassโ๐พ
2๏ธโฃ Read childrenโs books.

Reading a human-written, human-illustrated book is an incredibly effective antidote for AI fatigue. I donโt know whatโs going on, or maybe itโs because I came back into the childrenโs book game after almost two decades, but these childrenโs book illustrators and authors are popping off โ operating at the highest levels of creativity. One of our favorite library book finds is Have You Ever Seen a Flower by Shawn Harris. Canโt wait to check out the rest of his work!
3๏ธโฃ Find people who donโt hype the tech, but focus on how it impacts people and the planet.

Number 1 and 2 are moreso in your hands, but I can help with this one! Join me to talk about how we can advocate for AI that helps the people and the planet during Linkedin Live, tonight, with Dr. Cornelia C. Walther!
As it stands, the responsibility to stay safe in the AI age falls on us. The good news is: when enough of us grow our AI literacy, and join the AI conversation, change can happen.
The best path forward is by taking the time to do what youโre doing right now! Take a moment to reflect on AI safety. Weave a small AI safety discussion or practice into your life this week.
As I like to say โ mind your pics, mind your files, mind your detailsโand stay safe out there, Ammis!

Thanks for spending a few of your precious, precious minutes with us.
